95 bodies found in unmarked cemetery

The bodies of 95 black prisoners, leased out and forced to work on nearby plantations under Jim Crow, were discovered in an unmarked cemetery in Sugar Land, TX. The graves were discovered accidentally during construction of a new school. Now cornering a residential neighborhood, the area was once used for plantation farming, and it became a prison farm at the beginning of the 20th century.
